A welcoming painting community

Paintdeck is for sharing miniature-painting projects and knowledge. Public profiles, projects, recipes, text, and images must be safe, respectful, and relevant to the community.

Content that is not allowed

  • Hateful or discriminatory content targeting people or protected groups.
  • Harassment, threats, bullying, or encouragement of self-harm.
  • Sexual content, sexual exploitation, or any sexual content involving minors.
  • Graphic violence or content that meaningfully promotes violent harm.
  • Instructions, offers, or promotion for illegal or dangerous activity.
  • Private or identifying information shared without permission.
  • Spam, scams, impersonation, or content unrelated to miniature painting.
  • Content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property rights.

Miniatures commonly depict fantasy battles, horror, historical warfare, weapons, monsters, skulls, and painted blood or battle-damage effects. This ordinary hobby content is allowed when shared in the context of miniature painting, modelling, collecting, or tabletop gaming. Fictional or stylised themes are not treated as real-world harm merely because they portray violence. Content remains prohibited when it otherwise crosses the rules above—for example by promoting real-world violence, expressing hatred toward people or protected groups, making credible threats, or depicting sexual exploitation.

How content is reviewed

When a painter publishes or republishes content, automated screening may publish it, hold it for administrator review, hold it for a later retry, or reject a clearly prohibited submission. An earlier approved version can remain public while an edit is checked. Administrators can approve or reject held submissions.

Signed-in painters can also report a public profile, project, or recipe and block its owner. Reports are confidential and do not reveal the reporter to the reported painter. Administrators consider the content, the stated reason, relevant history, context, and the severity and frequency of any violations; automated screening does not by itself restrict an account.

Enforcement and repeated violations

After review, Paintdeck may take no action, close a report as unsupported or resolved, reject a pending publication, or unpublish the specific profile, project, or recipe while preserving the owner's private source. We may restrict an account from publishing or republishing when the account-level evidence justifies it. Existing public items remain available unless they are reviewed and unpublished separately.

Repeated or coordinated violations, attempts to evade earlier decisions, and severe single violations can lead to a publishing restriction. We consider context, severity, frequency, prior decisions, and whether a less disruptive action is sufficient. A restriction remains until an administrator restores publishing after review; it does not delete the account or its private content.

Appealing a decision

A painter affected by a screening, unpublishing, or publishing-restriction decision—and a reporter who disagrees with the outcome of a legal notice—can request a free review within six months by emailing mail@paintdeck.net. Include the account or contact email, the content URL or decision details, the date if known, why the decision should change, and any supporting context. Do not send passwords or verification codes.

We acknowledge appeals, review them diligently and without discrimination, and communicate a reasoned outcome. Where practicable, an administrator who did not make the original decision performs the review. We reverse unsupported decisions without undue delay. This process does not limit any court remedy or other right available under applicable law.

Anyone—including someone without a Paintdeck account—can submit a notice about allegedly illegal public content by emailing mail@paintdeck.net. Provide the exact Paintdeck URL, a sufficiently precise explanation of why the content is illegal—including the relevant law and country if known—your name and email address unless applicable law permits omission, and a statement that you believe in good faith that the information is accurate and complete.

For a copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property complaint, use the same address and identify the protected work or right, the exact Paintdeck URL, the rightsholder, your authority to act, the alleged infringement, and your contact details. State in good faith that the information is accurate. The affected painter may contest the complaint through the appeal channel.

We acknowledge notices and communicate the outcome when contact details are available. Urgent risks are prioritised; complex or cross-border questions may require more time or legal escalation. A notice does not guarantee removal, and knowingly abusive or misleading notices may be rejected.
